The Mission of Shelter Rock Church |

The mission of Shelter Rock Church is to teach Christians around the world that they can live life victoriously and free from the laws of sin and death. The goodness of God’s promises manifest in the life of a believer who chooses to live the Word.
- We are called to teach the royal commandment to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and our neighbor as ourself. (Matthew 22:37-40)
- We are called to minister unto the least of these knowing that whatever we do we do unto Jesus Christ. (Matthew 25)
- We are called to assist believers in becoming rooted, grounded and established in the Word of God by teaching them to give God's Word first place in their lives. (Colossians 1:23; Psalm 112)
- We are called to build an army of mature believers, bringing them from milk fed children to meat, from religion to truth. We are called to train them to become skillful in the word of righteousness and to stand boldly in the spiritual warfare against the kingdom of darkness. (Hebrews 5:12-14; Ephesians 6:10-28)
- We are called to go forth preaching every where, the Lord working with us and confirming the word with signs following. (Mark 16:20)

 We are made up of people from every walk of life with a hunger to know their personal Savior. Shelter Rock is a blend of brand new believers and established, mature Christians.
We share a desire to see God working in the life of each believer. Through God’s word we go beyond religion to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and are called to share the good news with our community, country and beyond.

- We believe in one God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Creator of all.
- We believe that Jesus of Nazareth is the first begotten Son of God. That He was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, was crucified, died, buried, resurrected, ascended into heaven, and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father and is 100% God and 100% man.
- We believe the Bible in its entirety to be the inspired Word of God and the infallible truth upon which our faith and conduct rests.
- We believe in the resurrection of the dead, the eternal life of joy for the saved, and the eternal punishment of the lost.
- We believe in personal salvation of believers through a profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
- We believe in sanctification through the Word of God and by the Holy Spirit, and we believe in personal holiness, purity of heart and life.
- We believe in divine healing, deliverance and freedom through faith in the Name of Jesus Christ and God’s covenant promises to His children are included in the Redemption.
- We believe in water baptism, in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, in the gifts of the Spirit, and the evidence of the fruit of the Spirit. We believe that all of these are available to believers.
- We believe in the Christian's hope; the soon-coming, personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ.

 Steven Reese and his wife Catherine founded Shelter Rock in 2001 while serving as Appalachian missionaries. Their total faith and trust in God to meet the needs of His children established a ministry where both spiritual and physical needs are met.
Pastor Steven leads and guides our church. His heart is to love people unconditionally and grow up believers through the process of a deeper revelation of God’s word. Through the gift of evangelism, Steven equips the church as salt and light in order to lead those in a dark world of desperation to hope in Jesus Christ.
